Destiny & Alan – A Summer Wedding at The Leaf
On July 16, 2024, surrounded by their closest friends and family, Destiny and Alan tied the knot in what can only be described as the wedding of the summer. From the start of the day at Fort Garry Hotel to the celebration at The Leaf, every detail reflected their love story and the joy of bringing everyone together.
Getting Ready at Fort Garry Hotel
The day began at the historic Fort Garry Hotel, with Destiny and Alan each getting ready in their own spaces, saving that much-anticipated first look for the walk down the aisle. If you walked past their rooms that morning, you would have heard laughter, music, and the warmth of friends and family gathering around. Joy and excitement were everywhere, setting the perfect tone for the day ahead.
With the help of my second shooter, Laura, we captured portraits of each wedding party separately, making sure the couple didn’t cross paths until it was time for the ceremony.
A Ceremony to Remember
Nestled on the grounds outside The Leaf, along a tree-lined path, the ceremony felt intimate and magical. Destiny and Alan’s daughters and son stood proudly as part of the wedding party — a beautiful reminder that this day was not only about two people joining together, but about a family becoming even stronger.
When it came time to share their vows, they spoke from the heart in front of all their loved ones. It was such a moving moment, with more than a few guests wiping away tears.
Celebration with Family & Friends
One of my favourite parts of the day was how intentional Destiny and Alan were about including everyone. After the ceremony, we made sure to capture a photo with each and every guest — such a fun and meaningful way to remember everyone who came to celebrate.
Cocktail hour was just as unforgettable, complete with a mariachi band (how cool is that?) and refreshing Aperol spritzes. Guests laughed, mingled, and danced as the evening unfolded.
Reception Highlights
The reception was stunning from start to finish. Every detail was carefully thought out, from Destiny’s earrings to Alan’s tuxedo with a leopard print lining, their matching moccasins, and even a beautiful blanket designed by Destiny herself.
One of the best surprises of the evening was a choreographed dance by the wedding party and the couple — such a fun, high-energy moment that had everyone cheering.
As the night went on, Destiny and Alan snuck away for golden-hour portraits outside The Leaf, followed by dreamy photos inside the biodome. Those quiet moments gave them the chance to step back, breathe, and soak it all in before returning to the party.
A Day Full of Love
From start to finish, Destiny and Alan’s wedding was a celebration of love, family, and connection. The laughter, the tears, the speeches, the music — every part of the day came together to create something unforgettable. It was such an honour to capture it all and to see them celebrate not only their marriage, but also the love of everyone who surrounded them.
I will never forget this night--the smiles, the tears, the speeches and the love that was felt all around.
Congratulations to Destiny and Alan. 💖
